BE MESMERIZED BY THAILAND’S “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS” THIS NOVEMBER..

Thailand will soon be celebrating their legendary Loy Krathong “Festival of Lights” on Thurdsay, 22nd of November 2018 where participants let go of krathong—small floating vessels made from banana stalks and decorated with incense, offerings, flowers and candles—into rivers and other bodies of water, creating an ethereal sight that’s rarely duplicated elsewhere in the world.

Loy Krathong is an annual festival set on the night of the full moon to pay respects to the Buddha and ask for the goddess of water to forgive their sins from the past year and bless their wishes for the year ahead.

Surrounding events include bright parades, musical performances, beauty pageants, traditional dances, lantern-making contests, fireworks, and lots and lots of food.

This really is one of the must see events of the year, purely for its sheer beauty. So whatever you had planned on, scrap that and join in on the Loi Krathong Samui 2018 festivities on 22nd November!
